If you’re here it’s probably because:

·       You’re a Carer

·       You’re looking for help to access education, training, or work

·       You want to know what ‘The Way to Work’ is

·       You want to know how this FREE project can help you

That’s fantastic!

So, what’s this project all about?

In a nutshell:

The programme aims to help Carers build confidence and resilience, improve health and wellbeing, and secure a new future by embarking on a journey towards and into rewarding and sustainable employment.

The programme is open to all unemployed, unpaid Carers within Essex, including Southend and Thurrock!

This project is co-funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund.

We think ‘The Way to Work’ project is the perfect way for Carers to start using their skills to better themselves. Here’s 5 ways the project can help:

1)    Your Key Worker will help you through EVERY step

You’ll be working with a fantastic Key Worker who you can contact at any time for help and advice. They’ll take you through the initial paperwork and make it easy-peasy for you to get started. Better still, they’ll be with you for your whole journey, so you’ll always have a reliable friend to guide you.

2)    Your Needs Assessment will target where you need most help

Maybe you need more respite time to free up a few hours? Maybe you would apply for that course if only somebody could pick your child up from school? Or perhaps you just don’t know how to re-train, or what you want to re-train in. Whatever the need, your Key Worker will sit with you and together you’ll work out how to get the most from the project.

3)    We’ll help remove barriers preventing you from getting out there

We know going on a course or training to develop skills is difficult when you Care for somebody. Sometimes all you need is a helping-hand so you can get on and do your own thing, your way. However much help you want from us, we’ll work to remove any barriers from doing so.

4)    Our partners will give you expert support

We’ll be sign-posting you to all our delivery partners for help with writing a CV, learning new skills, or accessing resources. Whatever support you get is completely free – it won’t cost you a penny!

5)    You’ll be on the road to a better, independent you.

It’s tough getting started, but with our help it can be easy as 1-2-3. You’ll be improving your skills and looking forward to new opportunities for yourself. We know that just because you Care for somebody, it doesn’t mean you don’t matter too. We just want to help you along the way.

So, what do you think?

Get in touch with us and we’ll talk about the next steps.
